SYNOPSIS
The artistic invasion and occupation of a former military area in Bordeaux culminates in a large-scale closing performance installed at the World War II submarine bunker »Base sous-marine«. The history and perception of a monumental WWII military structure is recontextualised through the creation of shockwaves which pierce the thick concrete of its walls, transforming it forcefully into an impromptu enchanting setting.
The »spect-actors«, whose mere presence is tantamount to full participation, finds themselves immersed in the atmosphere, playing both an integral and active part and becoming one with its psychedelic components. Removed from down-to-earth gravities, all those involved find themselves drawn into the hovering universe and metamorphosed into an elementary particle of this ephemeral constellation.
Part of MATANICOLA’s four-day festival curation of LES GRANDES TRAVERSEÉS. A multi-sensorial, queerful experience bringing choreography, performance, music, installations and more together. Featuring works and original creations from over forty international contemporary artists.
